Star Anise

Star anise is a spice native to northeast Vietnam and southwest China and is closely related to regular anise, and shares the distinctive flavour similar to liquorice. It is so called for the unusual star-like shape of the husks. We've responsibly and ethically sourced our star anise from the very best growers. It has a powerful aroma and, when used in cooking, a very strong taste. Star anise is used in a wide variety of recipes - including make-your-own mango chutney - and can also make a great addition to a potpourri mix.
